Bristol, Virginia
October 12 - 15,  2026  

We will be meeting in beautiful downtown Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia at the best time of the year, autumn in the Appalachian Mountains.  In addition to spending time together resting in God's word we will have opportunities to explore the mountains, fish for trout in the Holston River, play golf, if so inclined, on one of the premier golf courses in the country, tour Bristol Caverns, ride bikes along the Virginia Creeper Trail and walk the streets and shop in towns like Bristol, Abingdon, Virginia and  Jonesborough, Tennessee.  This is a time to be with other ministry couples to rest, unwind and share one another's stories.

Dr. Randy Thompson was born and reared in the Kanawha Valley of West Virginia, he holds a B. S. from Virginia Tech (1976), an M.Div. from Covenant Theological Seminary (1980), and a D. Min. from Westminster Seminary in California (1994).   After serving two churches in youth ministry, he was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1980.   He was the church planter and then pastor of Evangelical Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Cape Coral, Florida in 1980 and served there until 1995.  He has also served as pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, Mississippi (1995-2002).  In 2002 he became the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Tuscumbia, retiring from there after 22 years of faithful ministry.  
He and his wife Cathy, who is also from his hometown, have four grown children and eight grandchildren
